SALESPERSON 18-MONTH CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
If you obtained your sales license before October 1, 2007 you must complete two additional real estate courses within
18 months after receiving your license and send proof of the completion to the DRE.
Real Estate Practice is mandatory for the 18 month requirement, however quite often
we find that people have a course from a past college degree that
will satisfy the elective course requirement. The most common courses
people seem to already have, normally from their lower division college credits,
are General Accounting, Micro or Macroeconomics, and Business Law.
As long as you can furnish official proof of completion, it does not matter how
long ago these courses were taken. If you have questions, please feel free to call our office.

How Online Courses Work
Quizzes:
All of Clare Institute's online education courses
include online quizzes for each lesson. Quizzes must be completed to advance
within the online course material, however no passing grades are required
to proceed to subsequent levels. Immediately after each quiz is submitted
you will receive a summary of how you answered the quiz questions and the opportunity to retake the quiz until you are satisfied with your score.
Final Examination - Online:
Passing each course is dependent upon you receiving
a score of 60% or better (70% or better as of April 1, 2008) on each final examination. These tests
may be taken OPEN BOOK. And by choosing to take our online courses you will be able to take the final examination online,
without the need for monitored testing!
Online Completion Certificates/Transcripts:
For all online students, your Certificate of Completion/Transcript is issued by our office,
via email, within one business day of completion of the courses. This email will contain a link to your
signed certificate, with printing directions. Since we have the capability to send you a signed copy in email,
you will NOT receive a hard copy in the U.S. Mail. Please save the link to this email should
you need to print additional copies at a later date.
Important: It is your responsibility to send the proper renewal forms to the Department of Real Estate. We do not do this on your behalf.
We recommend using the eLicensing feature through the Department of Real Estate's website @ www.dre.ca.gov
